California Christmas Part 1

I hate to admit it, but I love California during the winter time. I told Matt last Christmas when we were in California that we had to spend the next one in Canada. All it took was one big snow storm the beginning of November and my mind was changed and we bought tickets to California. I can't say I have really regretted the decision. Now for a bunch of pictures.

Sienna did really well on the flight, only fussing a little cause I think she was tired of being held. (This girl has places to go and people to see. She can't be held all day long!) I love these pictures of her in the airplane seat cause it makes her seem so grown up.

The first few days we spent in Fresno which was fun cause we got to show Sienna off to people Matt cares about. We also went to Christmas Tree Lane. It's a street where houses are required to decorate for christmas and during the Christmas Season, in the evening, it is closed off for people who want to see the lights! I wish I would've taken more pictures, but since we were in a car it was a little hard.

Next we took the train down to Rancho Santa Margarita to visit my brother Brandon and his wife. We had so much fun! The weather was a little cooler then usual but that didn't stop us from having a great time. They have memberships to a fantastic gym. Crystal and I went to a "Bar class." We did some plies and pointe work, and various other exercises using the bar, a band, and a ball. One night we dropped our kids off at the gym day care and went crazy. We went down the waterslides, hot tubbed, went in the sauna, and rock climbed. It was such a fun night. I kind of felt like I was in high school again. Sadly no pictures.

Jadyn was such a good cousin to Sienna. She liked to hold her, push her in the stroller, and give her lots of kisses and hugs.

Kennedy also loved Sienna, maybe a little too much. That hug you see was generally how she hugged her, and if you tried to pull her off, she just squeezed tighter. Glad Sienna is still alive.
Quinncy and Sienna are 3 months apart, although aside from Sienna being more mobile, you wouldn't know it since they are about the same size. Love them together.

We also went to Balboa Island and rented bikes and rode them along the beach. It was sooo beautiful. I loved having the beach and ocean on one side and then beautiful beach front homes on the other side. The weather was also the perfect temperature, at least on the first leg of our trip. On the way back the wind was against us and Sienna was not happy! She cried the whole way back and had a combination of tears, drool and snot all over her face.

So far it has been a great trip! California Christmas Part 2, coming soon!

Sienna's 8 month update

Another month has come and gone. Sienna is 8 months old! By the time we get back from our trip to California, she will almost be 9 months!

Sienna is about my favorite person in the whole world. Sometimes I find myself wanting her to wake up from a nap so I can play with her. I just miss my bud!

She is weighing in at a whooping 13 lbs 6 oz. Still no teeth, but getting around the room much better.

Sienna loves to play peek a boo and has figured out how to do it herself. If I put a blanket over my head she pulls it off me with a big smile and whenever she is given a blanket the first thing she does is hold it over her face and then pulls it down with, you guessed it, a big smile on her face.

She is also a little trickster. There have been a number of times we have gone to check to see if she is asleep and she appears to be. So I proceed to pull the blanket over her. As soon as the blanket touches her, she opens her eyes wide and starts smiling and kicking. It's the funniest thing. (Although these pics were taken at different times and the flash was blinding her, that's what it's like)

Oh baby baby she's a wild one

So wild, I sometimes put her in a cage.

And let her lick the bowl clean because I don't want to get close to her razor sharp gums.

These two LOVE to play together. As soon as they see each other, big smiles cross their faces and they crawl to each other and reach out to touch hands or faces. If you couldn't tell from the pictures, Caleb loves to crawl all over Sienna.

Just relaxing all cool.
I love that she can feed herself now. My life got so much easier

Oh I love this silly girl!

This picture breaks my heart and makes me laugh at the same time.
Sienna had some positive and negative experiences with Santa. The first time, she did alright, maybe because she never turned around to look at him. Second time, not the case. She cried the whole time he tried to hold her. So it became a family christmas picture

Cute little Reindeer.
SO excited for her first christmas. She has loved playing with all the ornaments and touching the tree. I really hope she has some interest in opening up her presents, but I am not totally betting on it.

Well that's it for the update and picture overload. Since getting my new camera, I feel like I am taking pictures all the time, and I love them all!

7 months

..Gosh I love this little baby! Everyday she makes me laugh and fills my life with so much happiness. I can't imagine my life without her.

Here are some fun facts about this 7 month old

~ is sometimes sleeping thru the night. Usually we just have to stick her pacifier back in and she sleeps all night. But I would love to get rid of her need for the pacifier and just have her self soothe. Any tips on making that a reality?
~ is trying desperately to crawl. She gets up on all fours and has pushed herself backwards. She has the most dramatic army crawl that she has only done a few times. Poor babe though is getting so frustrated being immobile but wanted to get at everything in sight!
~ loves matts stuffed bear. She reaches for that over any other toy.
~ is a jolly jumper, not just a twirler.
~ loves Disney music
~ is super talkative and loud. It's a lot of babble with some shrieks. Makes me wonder what kind of stories she is telling.
~ most likely has a sensitivity or allergy to bananas. Projectile vomits every time she eats them.
~ Current fav food is sweet potatoes. Most crazy foods have been spare ribs and chicken noodle soup blended up. She wasn't to crazy about them.
~ Siennanow weighs 12 lbs 12 oz.  She gained a pound in 1 month, which is quite the accomplishment for this little girl!
This picture confirmed to me that Sienna has my stick out ears.

And this picture just gets me every time. That face, those double chins. Oh how I love this sweet girl

Crawlers start your engines cause this baby is eager to go!

This is the bear she loves so much. Can't you tell?

Prepping for the day she stars as "Annie"

And this is the newest addition to our family! I love that I can now take pictures that aren't super pixalated or blurry because Sienna is moving all over.

Happy Halloween.

Sienna had a pretty good first Halloween. We went to our ward party in Wednesday night and she got toys from the fishing pond and ate some of daddy's Cotten candy when he wasn't looking. On the night of Halloween we went into lethbridge at got our picture taken by a photography company. I love the way it turned out. Sienna has on a huge smile. For Halloween night we ditched our house since we didn't buy any candy and went to my parents to play cards. I don't know if kids just aren't trick or treating like they used to or just going to the really nice housing developments in hopes of getting whole chocolate bars and bags of chips. (Confession: I did that as a kid.) we probably only had about 20 kids total and over half of them were older then 12. That just means lots of leftover Halloween candy to snack on for us! I am excited for halloweens to come and hope that Matt always wants to dress up with me.

What the heck...!

Since when did half a year go by. 6 months=half a year= how old Sienna is. Wasn't I just holding her for the first time not very long ago? And she was so fragile and tiny and barely opened her eyes or made a peep. Now I feel like I don't have a baby anymore. She is getting too big and grown up. And she is. She is 6 months people!

Here are some general facts
Height=25.75 inches
Weight=12lbs 3 oz

Sienna has had a pretty good month. Some highlights have been experimenting with more solid foods. She still prefers her bottle but loves a good bowl of oatmeal and peaches. She is also pretty lucky because doctors orders are to but cream/butter in her cereal. What more could a baby want! Hopefully it adds some chub.

She loves to play in her jolly jumper. She doesn't really "jump" in it. Mostly she just likes to twirl around in a circle and kick her little feet. It can keep both of us entertained for a good 15-20 mins

She has become an escape artist and no matter how tight we swaddle her, she manages to sneak an arm out. Which really wouldn't  be so terrible if she didn't pull out her pacifier everytime and then get mad because she pulled it out. She has yet to figure out that if she wants to stay asleep and be happy, she must keep the pacifier in her mouth. We have now resorted to double wrapping, which has done the trick so far.

She is getting more mobile in that I place her on her back facing one direction and before I know it she is on her tummy and has done a 180. She is also getting used to switching from front to back and is using that to move around the room. You can tell though she wants to be more mobile as she reaches out for things just out of reach and scrunches up her legs but just face plants into the ground. She hasn't quite figured out that her arms are part of the equation of crawling.

She is starting to sit up on her own which I am really excited about. I can't wait till she can sit next to me or in my lap and I am hands free.

And know for Sienna picture overload
My best friend Jennica and I had babies within 6 weeks of each other. I sure wish they didn't live in Utah so we could play with our babes everyday together.
Sienna playing with Caleb. Babies can play together for quite awhile. It's so cute to see them being social and interacting with each other.
In these toys alone, they don't last long, but when they have each other to look at, it's much more enjoyable.
Already the drama queen.
Playing out in the leaves. This fall was beautiful so we spent as much time as we could outside. Sienna is much better at sitting in the grass then in my living room I might add.

This cutie pies first ponytail. Oh I love it so much on her. I think matt likes it too, but he also likes to pull it out 10 minutes after I put it in. He is worse then a child sometimes.
Going on walks with Grampy can wear a baby out!
